Welcome to Our Music Ministry Page ~ Rejoice!
At White Haven United Methodist Church, we love music, whether we are singing hymns, praise music, or playing instruments.
If you love to sing as much as we do, we encourage you to become involved. We also are blessed with an abundance of musical gifts from some of our members who play guitar, piano, and keyboard. Our very own Pastor, Pastor Sarah, is multi-gifted with playing instruments, including the piano and the harp. If you play an instrument, we would love for you to share your gift with us!
The Ministerium (our local churches assembly) is also in the season of preparing for the upcoming Christmas Cantata. Yes, it's that time already!
If you would like to be part of our Music Ministry, or for more information on the Cantata - please contact us at (570) 443-7153.
Calling all kids!
If you like to sing and want to be part of our Children's Choir, we'd love to have you come and join us! Rehearsals will be starting on Thursday, Dec. 4th @ 6:00 pm.
There are numerous Scriptures in the Bible that shares about what it means to bring our heart to God through song: Psalm 98 says it well:
1 Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him.
2 The Lord has made his salvation known and revealed his righteousness to the nations.
3 He has remembered his love and his faithfulness to Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music;
5 make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing,
6 with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn— shout for joy before the Lord, the King.
7 Let the sea resound, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.
8 Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy;
9 let them sing before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples with equity.
Amazing? Absolutely!
